We currently have 5 stations where you might be placed- 2 adult art tables, 2 children’s art tables, and 1 free book library. In the sign-up form, you can note your preference for working with adults or children.
At the adult art tables, you will help directors and other volunteers set up 1 workshop table and 1 free play table. The free play table will have an array of supplies and different mediums for guests who want to try their hand at different art forms independently. The workshop table will follow a specific “art lesson” where volunteers guide artists to complete a specific project (monitored by the Art Programs Director). Once set up, volunteers will serve as contact points if guests need materials and offer a listening ear for conversation if needed.
Similarly, for children’s art tables, we have 1 free play table and 1 workshop table that focuses on education-focused workshops for children. Here, volunteers set up tables and support the Children’s Programs Director, who will be running workshops and supporting children in completing a creative project.
At the free library, volunteers are encouraged to talk to guests who want a book to read and would like recommendations from our free book table. This volunteer is in charge of monitoring this station, keeping track of guests, and noting down any requests, as well as providing guests with book recommendations from our free library that guests can take with them.
